“Preventing food waste by bringing together supply and demand at the right time”
“Good food, being outside, nice people.” These are often mentioned answers to the question of what people find important. These are answers that we also use ourselves. On a micro scale, we as Dutch people are doing fine in that respect, but on a macro scale there are serious challenges. In 1991 we decided to take on these challenges and contribute to a better world.
Froozzoo was founded so that our children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren can also enjoy good food, being outdoors and pleasant people around them, with a clear mission and a vision to make that happen.

Positive developments of innovation are improved processes for food production and preservation. Automation has ensured that the amount of food produced per worker has increased exponentially. By freezing food, both semi-finished and finished products, before transport, quality can be guaranteed for longer.
These developments together result in an extremely diverse offering that is available at all times. The challenge is getting the right product to the right place at the right time. Froozzoo supports phases where this process deviates from the operational standard.

The right product in the right place at the right time
The right product
As a manufacturer, you have careful guidelines on how a product should be presented to your target group. This concerns, for example, quality of the product, visual presentation, weight, quantity, volume, condition of packaging, etc. If there are deviations (production errors) from the standard specifications, these foodstuffs are not suitable for regular sales.
The right place
If your frozen food is unsuitable for regular sales channels, you have a problem. Sometimes products can be reused in the production process, but they are usually written off as loss. This results in a direct loss of capital, as well as a waste of food.
The right time
When there is overproduction or canceled orders, there is time pressure. Overcrowded warehouses, best-before problems or cash flow are reasons to liquidate your stock before the situation escalates and leads to major losses and shrinkage. Froozzoo has several locations to store and distribute (frozen) stock throughout Europe.
Froozzoo has a unique network of secondary sales markets throughout Europe where we can sell frozen foods discreetly and without cannibalizing products from your own sales market, in compliance with all local and international legislation. In this way we guarantee sales of products when time is a compelling factor.
climate
When we think of climate change, we often immediately think of cars and smoke plumes. While agriculture and livestock farming make the largest contribution to greenhouse gas emissions, more than all cars, trucks, trains and planes combined. The largest consumer and polluter of drinking water is agriculture, which is also responsible for the loss of biodiversity.
production
And according to the United Nations, the world population will grow to 10 billion by 2050. The reality is that more people need to be fed and a heavier burden is placed on our environment. According to OXFAM, almost 1 billion people go to bed hungry every day, despite 17% more food being produced per person than 30 years ago.
Waste
How we handle food is one of the biggest threats to the planet, both environmentally and humanitarianly.
Roughly 30% of total food production for human consumption is wasted. In Europe it has been calculated that 95 to 115 kilos of food is thrown away per person every year.

Efficiency is the most important link in achieving a world with sustainable food production and minimizing loss.
